Focus Areas
While 'Managing IT Better' is the
overall focus of this event, there are five key areas that shall be highlighted
at ManageIT '08. These include:
Green Computing: Get informed about various green aspects of a
particular product or solution, which will lead you to a purchase decision
that may slash-up your electricity bill (direct savings)
or help you remain more environmentally responsible (reduce your carbon
footprint).
Mobile Applications: Impress
the management by providing business reports on their mobile phones. That could
be one way of thinking to it, but I am sure your management is going to like it, as
that will help them remain in touch of their business, even while on move, or
may be at a place as weird as their bathroom (or, is it too much, better ask
them).
Virtualisation:
Manage your existing IT resources (primarily the costlier ones like, storage and
server) more efficiently by using virtualisation techniques and validate your next
purchase.
Open Source:
Open source is generally referred to as reducing your overall IT setup costs,
significantly, but that not all of it. Lately, lots of IT
managers are finding its real value in being able to help them
customise IT as per their needs, while securing their previous
investments.
IT Solutions for the specially-abled &
Ergonomics: We trust that IT should be accessible to each and every
one, irrespective of their special abilities or disabilities, moreover it should also be
less stressful for anyone to use. There are vendors who are doing specific
research works in this direction and some of
them are really out with their products, so we hope to have a host of them at
the expo for you.
Thus, you be sure
of finding solution providers exhibiting their solutions in these five areas. Of
course, do expect to find other innovative solutions also, as these are only a few important pointers for
the expo and in no way are going to limit the show. There's going to be much
more..
